Welcome to the Snowy Woods Quilt sew-along! I’m so excited for you to sew up this Christmas quilt pattern with me.

This quilt is an Advanced Beginner/Early Intermediate skill level. With only two different block designs, you’ll get lots of practice using templates and sewing half square and quarter square triangles.

You’ll seriously be an expert by the time you’re done. ;)

I created this quilt pattern to celebrate the launch of my Natural Christmas fabric collection! It is my portion of a multi-designer collaboration; here’s the official blurb:

Explore a collection of color-coordinated surface pattern designs by 53 artists from 17 countries that evokes the spirit of the holiday season while embracing the beauty of nature. Capturing the essence of Christmas through a natural lens, the designs incorporate elements such as pine cones, holly leaves, berries, and woodland creatures. With over 1700 patterns to choose from, you’ll be sure to find the perfect design for your Christmas decor!

But if 1700+ designs is overwhelming, you can find the thirteen fabrics I used in this quilt here.

The collection linked above is a small portion of my full collection. For alternate color ways, solids, and additional patterns, click here.

Spoonflower (where most of my fabrics are available) has TONS of different fabric options. Four  in particular are good for quilts.

Spoonflower Petal Cotton close up

BEST SELLER goes to the Petal Signature Cotton. It’s 100% cotton, in a quilting weight, and it softens with washing. It’s also the least expensive of their fabrics. Find care instructions and other helpful info here.

Spoonflower Cotton Poplin close up

MY FAVORITE is the Cotton Poplin. Also 100% cotton, it prints beautifully, has a nice hand, and sews up wonderfully. I used this fabric for the Snowy Woods quilt. More info here.

Spoonflower Cotton Sateen fabric close up

SOFT AND SMOOTH award goes to the Organic Cotton Sateen. With a very soft hand, subtle sheen, and excellent printing, this is a great choice. It’s also a quite bit wider than the  previous two fabrics (59” instead of 42”). More info here.

Spoonflower Minky fabric close up

CUDDLE KING is the Minky. This fabric has a short, soft pile, and prints with a rich and saturated color. This fabric would be especially cozy for your quilt backing. More info here.

Now that you’ve decided which fabric type you want for your quilt, download my quilt pattern here for fabric amounts.

AND GUESS WHAT? Especially for you, since you’re joining me for the quilt-along, you can get the pattern for free! Use the coupon code snowquilt24. The code will be valid during the quilt-along.

Please share the link and the coupon code with all your quilting friends, but don’t share the pattern itself.

I’ll see you back here next time! Remember to use any of these hashtags when posting your beautiful work on social media:  #snowywoodssewalong #snowywoodsquilt #byjillmiller
